There has been a significant spike in searches for “Miegakure,” which is an upcoming puzzle game that seems to be targeted towards the more “geeky” crowd. What this game does is explore the existence of a forth dimension. According to the official site for the software, it appears to be your standard 3D platform on the surface. However, you can toggle between a fourth and other dimension. The site has a more indepth explanation of the concept that underlies the game, and the creators have even posted some fancy animations to try and demistify the concept. Our guess is that those attracted to the game probably don’t need much of an explanation about a theoretical fourth dimension.

The interest in Miegakure probably stems from a press release or some other form of publicity meant to get the public excited about the game. While the site does announce that the game will be compatible on both Windows and Mac OS, there has been no word on when the anticipated release date is. Nor has there been any information provided as to what sort of system requirements will be needed for optimal performance. Our guess is that some decently powerful hardware will be required for the 3D rendering. We will have to wait and see what’s in store for the Miegakure software.
