Katrina dead still awaiting burial

100 bodies of the victims of Hurricane Katrina are still awaiting burial nearly two years after the August 2005 disaster. According to CNN, 30 of the bodies were unable to be identified. What is very sad about this story is that many of the relatives are unable to afford burial for their loved ones. Now, wouldn’t you expect someone to help them out and pick up the tab? Nope, of course not.

That task has been left up to Dr. Frank Minyard who has raised a little over half the funds needed to burry the bodies. Until these funds are acquired, the bodies will sit in a warehouse wrapped in plastic. This story might fly a little easier in some other country, but in America. How the hell can you leave these people unburied for almost TWO YEARS? Don’t they deserve the same decency we all do, to rest peacefully? This story absolutely irritates me.
