Cristina Warthen – Stanford Law Call Girl
You’d think a Stanford Law graduate would exercise a bit of sense, however, this story sides with the exact opposite of the assumption. Cristina Warthen, a now graduate of Stanford law is facing tax evasion charges after failing to report her earnings as call girl. Cristina Warthen is believed to have flaunted her earnings online at one time.
Cristina Warthen found clients via a website, which she was part of from 2001-2003. Clients paid for her to travel around the world to meet them. Cristina Warthen is a Northern California resident.
In a bizarre twist, Cristina Warthen turns out to be the former wife of AskJeeves founder David Warthen. He tried to defend her against the evasion charges, citing the earnings were a gift from him.
Warthen is facing one count of tax evasion charges for her 2003 income, in which she owes nearly $25k in back taxes. Warthen is now expected to pay over $300k now that she has plead guilty.
When Cristina Warthen began working as a call girl in 2001, she had listed her income under the disguise of a tour service. However, later investigations found the true source of the income. Cristina Warthen’s sentencing will begin in June.
