Chris Benoit along with his wife and son were found dead Tuesday in their Georgia home. The wrestler, also known as the “Canadian Crippler” was 40 years old. According to the Associated Press, Benoit may have strangled his wife, smothered his son, then strangled himself. Benoit has two other children from a previous marriage. Authorities have confirmed that steroids were found in Benoit’s house, suggesting that “roid rage” may have been involved.

Wow…I’m not a wrestling fan but this sounds like a big blow to the wrestling community. This is even very shocking to me; it’s not everyday you hear about a man who takes his own life and that of his family. If it turns out that he was the perpetrator of these crimes, I will have no respect for him. Even if it was the steroids, to take them in such blatant disregard does not fly by me. We’ll have to be patient and see what the investigation turns up, but this story is very saddening.
