Firefighters are battling a fire near the Lake Tahoe resort this morning. The fire has already burned 2,500 acres. It has taken 220 homes along with it. As of this morning, only 10% of the fire is contained. The National Weather Service has issued a smoke advisory warning for those residing in the area between S. Lake Tahoe and Carson City.

What can I say, it’s fire season. Whether we like it or not we’re going to have to deal with these fires. Sure, there are precautions we can take: cutting dry vegetation, etc. But, we are still going to get fires anyway. It’s sad to see that 220 homes were lost, but I know firefighters gave it their all to try and save the homes. Who knows how many countless others they saved.
