Reports are circulating that Natasha Richardson may have suffered from talk and die syndrome shortly after her ski accident. The talk and die syndrome basically refers to how one feels perfectly fine after they sustain a head injury, however, in the hours following, they begin to develop severe symptoms including a headache, weakness, and lapses in and out of consciousness. On Monday, Natasha Richardson was skiing at a celebrity-known ski resort when she sustained a head injury.

It is believed that the impact which she made caused brain hemorrhaging, or internal bleeding inside the skull. Although there are usually no immediate signs of problems, the blood accumulates within the skull and thus causes a substantial build up of pressure. One this buildup is sufficient, the person begins to develop problems. The talk and die syndrome is apparent in the Natasha Richardson ski accident. She was reported to be fine shortly after her accident, with various media outlets citing that she was laughing and joking around after her fall.

However, after about an hour following the accident, the talk and die syndrome seemed to have manifested itself. Natasha Richardson began complaining of a headache, and from there on, her condition began to deteriorate rapidly. She was flown in from Canada to the United States, where it is now reported that she is likely brain dead. This has yet to be confirmed, however, this is what Natasha Richardson’s close family members and friends are saying. Reports state that the plug may be pulled if the situation shows no signs of progress.

As you can see, the talk and die syndrome is nothing to joke about and can afflict anyone whose sustained some sort of head injury.
