Don Imus Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
Don Imus, the infamous radio personality that fell under scrutiny for making racist comments towards the Rutgers Women’s basketball team in 2007 announced today that he’s been diagnosed with Stage II prostate cancer. The 68 year old announced his ailment via his show this morning. Imus claims he was debating whether or not to make the information public.
Don Imus currently runs a charity organization for children with cancer and aims to continue his work at the “Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer.” He has not commented on his outlook, however, the nature of Stage II prostate cancer makes the situation hopeful. Stage II prostate cancer is typically diagnosed after a physical exam, and in Imus’ case, it doesn’t look as the if the cancer has metastized to other organs.
Imus has announced no intentions of leaving his show or at least reducing the amount of time he spends with his career.
