Some good news to report for all of you iHop lovers. The chain of restaurants will be having a free pancake day tomorrow where you can load up on those scrumptious creations. There is no need to rush to iHop in the morning either. The free pancakes will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There are really no strings attached, all the chain is asking is that patrons make a donation to charity, specifically local children’s hospitals. This has been an ongoing event for iHop in recent years. It is estimated that they have raised nearly $5M over the years, and there is no end in sight. The number to beat this year is $1.3M, which seems very doable. While iHop could possibly make direct donations to the charities, the turnout would be nowhere near as large.

iHop, the abbreviated name for the International House of Pancakes has been in business since 1958, with it’s first location opening in Toluca Lake, California. Since that time, the iHop empire has expanded to hundreds of locations. The company is headquartered in Glendale, CA. iHop reported profit in excess of $44.5M for the 2006 fiscal year. The chain seems to have received little backlash from the faltering economy.
