Ottis Toole – John Walsh Case Solved
Ottis Toole, according to police officials in Florida, is the last puzzle piece to the long-drawn Walsh investigation. Ottis Toole was a known serial killer that had perished nearly 10 years ago, and is believed to have decapitated John Walsh’s 6 year old son in 1981. This discovery comes nearly two decades after the crime.
The crime Ottis Toole committed was the driving force behind Walsh’s decision to launch America’s most wanted, a popular TV show profiling some of the most wanted criminals in the United States. John Walsh reacted to the news of Ottis Toole in an emotional manner at a press conference held today. He still can’t believe that someone would commit such an atrocious crime.
Ottis Toole himself had confessed that he was involved in the Walsh murder. However, Ottis Toole letter recanted his claims. He also claimed to have been involved in several hundred other murders. Police, however, found that these claims were mere lies. Ottis Toole’s niece contacted Walsh to tell him that Toole had confessed to the murder due to his impending death. Ottis Toole confessed to killing Adam Walsh in a horrible manner.
Ottis Toole was apparently the main suspect in the killings, according to police in the Florida area. They said that key pieces of evidence led back to Ottis Toole. Jeffery Dahmer was suspected to be involved in the murder, however, with Ottis Toole’s confession, it is now clear that he was not intertwined in this murder.
Ottis Toole is believed to have kidnapped Adam Walsh in a mall in July of 1981. Body parts were recovered some two weeks after his disappearance. These parts were some 100 miles away.
Police lack DNA evidence that connects Ottis Toole to the crime, due in part to their negligence in keeping a blood stained carpeting sample found in Ottis Toole’s car. Walsh agrees that the FBI and Police were rather negligent in dealing with the crime.
We are glad that the Walsh case is finally solved and that the Walsh family now knows who committed this unthinkable crime.
