We may have another Susan Boyle situation on our hands after Lin Yu Chun became an overnight hit on YouTube for his rendition of Whitney’s Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Lin Yu Chun performed the song before a panel of judges on the Taiwanese show “Super Star Avenue.” Fans of the show seem to agree that Chun will be the likely winner of the contest, going home with a recording contract as well as $1 million dollars to spend. In the event that Chun doesn’t manage to pull through the contest, we’re pretty sure he will make it in the industry much like Susan Boyle was able to.

Be forewarned, the Lin Yu Chun video is not meant for the weak at heart. You will literally be taken away at how closely Chun’s rendition mimics the original song. If you play the video and just listen to the audio, you would have difficulty convincing yourself that someone other that Whitney Houston is singing. We wish Chun the best of luck in the competition and our votes are with him in the coming phases of the show. Hopefully, we will get some of this same surprising talent on American Idol this next season. It seems very few, if no contestants have truly taken us by surprise quite yet.
