Nestle, the makers of the popular low-fat Lean Cuisine, are recalling some 900,000 pounds or lean cuisine meals. The motive behind the Lean Cuisine Recall stems from customer complaints that small blue plastic pieces were scattered throughout their meal. Whether these blue plastic pieces that triggered the Lean Cuisine Recall are dangerous remains to be seen.

The frozen dinners that are part of the Lean Cuisine Recall was distributed on a nationwide basis. Unfortunately, the Lean Cuisine Recall didn’t come to shape quite quick enough. One person has already sustained injury from the blue plastic pieces found inside the recalled lean cuisine meals. This is according to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Agriculture department. This is believed to be one of the main underlying motives for the Lean Cuisine Recall, however, no further details were made available surrounding the injury stemming from the frozen meals.

An employee with Nestle claims that the Lean Cuisine Recall should not be alarming. The employee claims that no other individuals have come forth citing injuries as a result of the frozen meals. The Lean Cuisine Recall is predominantly a precautionary step the manufacturer is taking to circumvent the possibility of additional injuries.

The Lean Cuisine Recall should be of particular interest to those who enjoy indulging in the following Lean Cuisine dinners – Café Classics Pesto Chicken with Bow pasta, Dinnertime Selects Chicken Tuscan, and Chicken Mediterranean. Whether or not other meals could be affected by the Lean Cuisine Recall is unclear at this point. However, the possibility still remains.

Nestle is alleging that the main driving factor behind the Lean Cuisine Recall was the barrage of consumer complains they received regarding the plastic in the food. Some consumers unknowingly bit into the pieces of plastic, and thus encountered a surprise they weren’t expecting to find in their meal.

According to the USDA, the hazard found in the Lean Cuisine meals can be classified as a Class I hazard. This essentially means that there exists a possibility that consumers can sustain some injury from consuming the meal. However, the injury could range from a severe one to a rather minimal one.

The Lean Cuisine Recall is something to be taken seriously, and those of you that have bought Lean Cuisine meals should ensure that they’re not contaminated with these plastic pieces. As more information becomes available about the Lean Cuisine Recall, we will keep you posted.

Pictured Left: Teah Wimberly (15), charged with first degree murder and discharging a weapon on school grounds, poses for a Myspace photograph.

Amanda Collette, a 15 year old pupil from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida fell victim to a

school shooting today, and unfortunately perished soon after she was discovered in a school hallway. Officials described Amanda Collette as “unresponsive” when discovered in the hallway.

Amanda Collette was a sophomore at Dillard High School up until this tragic incident today. A school official discovered Amanda Collette in the hallway of her high school. The official, a resource officer, came across Amanda’s body sometime around 11 a.m. Amanda was later confirmed to be dead.

Police may already have a suspect in Amanda Collette’s murder. An unidentified 15 year old girl, believed to be a student at Dillard High School, was retained for questioning by authorities.

Police are rather baffled as to how Amanda Collette may have been killed. No staff members nor students at Dillard High School reported hearing gunshots or other strange noises. The girl’s body also failed to furnish any evidence as to what may have caused her death. Although some media outlets are reporting that Amanda Collette was indeed shot, it is not clear at this time whether these reports are accurate.

Update: Fort Lauderdale police officials have confirmed that Amanda Collette was killed by a gunshot. They believe the shooter, who has yet to be identified, used a small caliber gun to commit the murder. The incident is believed to have only involved one female student from the school.

A sophomore at the school alleges that he saw the conflict unfold. Stephan Willis claims he was watching two girls in the hallway, one of them being Amanda Collette, arguing in the hallway. The other unidentified female allegedly furnished a gun and proceeded to shoot her classmate. Willis had known the victim since primary school.

Amanda Collette’s alleged killer was apprehended by police at a local restaurant. The police were able to retrieve the weapon used in the killing.

Although Dillard High School was placed in a lockdown state shortly following the shooting, it has since resumed its regular glass schedule. Dillard High School currently boasts a student body of some 1,700 students. The campus is guarded by security staff and is also monitored by security cameras.

This is indeed a sad story and our hearts go out to the Collette family. We can only hope that this situation increases security oversight in schools. We will be watching this story as more details unfold.

UPDATE: The unidentified girl police apprehended at a local restaurant was charged with Amanda Collette’s murder. Teah Wimberly, a student at the school, was charged with first degree murder and discharging a weapon on school grounds. Teah Wimberly is said to be cooperating with investigators.

When police arrested Wimberly at the restaurant, thanks to the help of a concerned local resident, she was found in possession of a firearm. Investigators believe that the shooting stemmed from a conflict between the two students.

A sophomore student at the school claims that Amanda Collette was attempting to purchase something from a vending machine when she was shot by Wimberly. Wimberly was said to like Collette, however Collette allegedly didn’t want to associate with the fellow classmate.

After found in the hallway, Amanda Collette was taken to nearby Broward General Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at the center.

Despite earlier reports, Devondrius Brown, a Dillard High School student, claims to have heard gunshots shortly before Collette collapsed. Brown was in a classroom within close proximity to the vending machines.

With all the excitement surrounding the olympics, many of you have been wondering what kinesiology tape is. Kinesiology tape is something you don’t here of everyday, so we thought an explanation was due.

Kinesiology Tape was invented in the late ’70s to expedite treatment of injuries and certain types of illnesses. The doctor who created kinesiology tape, Dr. Kenzo Kase, had previously tested out other forms of tape that weren’t remotely as effective as kinesiology tape.

The application of the tape has been crafted after many hours of studying the human body. Using kinesiology tape, Dr. Kase was able to improve the skin’s ability to transmit numerous healing signals throughout the body.

Kinesiology tape is quite different in nature from other tapes. For one, it allows the skin to breathe as it normally should. The adhesive used to apply kinesiology tape is specifically used for medical applications, and thus allows for normal operation of certain bodily functions.

We think kinesiology tape is quite an amazing innovation and something each and every athelete should take a careful look at. Kinesiology tape can be had for rather affordably and thus those who are active in athletics should take advantage of it.

Kaden Reiserson, a five year old from Minnesota recently underwent surgery to cure his condition known as cherubism. The condition, which affects the lower regions of the face, usually doesn’t conflict with a patient’s lifestyle. However, in Reiserson’s case, the cherubism made it difficult for him to both eat and breathe.

Cherubism, is characterized as a genetic disorder that encourages the growth of fibrous tissue rather than bone in lower parts of the face. The condition is supposed to subside as one gets older, but is in some cases, cherubism continues to manifest itself in a patient’s face well into adulthood.

Cherubism has numerous complications including causing the premature loss of teath and affecting a persons ability to see, eat, and breathe. A specific gene has been identitifed in nearly 80% of those suffering from cherubism.

The five year old had surgery at Medical City Dallas International Craniofacial Institute located in Texas. His parents are quite relieved that the surgery went off without a hitch and are now pleased that cherubism wont’ affect the way Kaden eat’s or breathes.

A new diet is in town hoping to fray away the pounds we’ve packed on these recent years. The Flat Belly diet (more information available on flatbellydiet.com) was developed by Liz Vaccariello and Cynthia Sass. The concept behind the Flat Belly diet is rather simple: take advantage of the monounsaturated fatty acids contained in a variety of foods. For those who don’t know, these are healthy fats that can be found in a large spectrum of different foods (think almonds, olive oil, etc). The Flat Belly diet was launched with a huge splash, considering it’s creators appeared on both Good Morning America and Rachel Ray.

The Flat Belly Diet is not just a book, or collection of several videos. Rather, it is the combination of a book, website (flatbellydiet.com), online program and more! For those who’re a bit hesitant to fork over money before getting a taste of the diet, flatbellydiet.com has some free information that one can use to “demo,” if you will, the diet.

We think the Flat Belly diet has some big potential. Since it limits your caloric intake to 400/meal (1600/day), and you’re taking in those healthy fats you can hope to achieve some pretty signficant results. The Flat Belly diet can allegedly help you lose over 15 pounds in just over 15 days.

So if you’ve been struggling to get that weight down, the Flat Belly Diet seems like the perfect candidate for you. We suggest heading over to flatbellydiet.com before actually purchasing anything so you can get a feel for the program.
