Rumors that Megan Fox won’t be appearing in Transformers 3 were confirmed today when it was announced that the starlet would no longer be part of the series. Paramount studios announced today that Fox won’t be reprising her role as Mikaela Banes alongside Shia Lebouf in the popular series. Reports from Variety and other publications have it that Michael Bay, the producer of the films and Paramount want to take the series in a different direction, one that might not be to Fox’s liking. Fox has had an ongoing feud with Bay, once comparing him to Hitler. Although she claims to have left the project on her own accord, it seems more likely that tension has built between the two to the breaking point. Paramount also seems fond of the idea of introducing a new love interest for Shia Labeouf in the newest film, making Fox a disposable asset.

The latest installment of Transformers is set to hit theaters this summer. Both of the last films scored well over $700 million at the box office, making them one of the most profitable projects that Paramount Studios has pursued. The company was planning to delay the release of the latest installment, but it is now slated to be released earlier this year.

Yet another Miss USA controversy has materialized after Rima Fakih, Miss Michigan USA was crowned Miss USA 2010 yesterday. Racy pictures of Fakih hit the internet shortly after she was esteemed with the title. The pictures, taken at a stripping class subject to discussion on a radio show depicted Fakih in some very provocative clothing. According to Mojo in the Morning, the talk radio show which hosted the event, the pictures have been publicly available online since 2007. It was not until the beauty was crowned that the radio station posted a congratulations notice and for some reason decided to use the racy picture of Rima Fakih that they had on file.

So far, it seems that the pictures haven’t drastically altered the public opinion on Fakih. Many continue to congratulate her on the victory and realize that the circumstances surrounding the incident fail to indicate any sort of lapse in character. The radio station has said that the strip lessons occurred in a closed strip club that was open only to women during the lessons. So-in-all, while headlines are making this sound like some sort of juicy scandal, it is nothing more than a ploy to attract readers and stir controversy. There is no outrage warranted against Fakih given the circumstances as she was clearly not actively involved in anything morally questionable.

NBC has announced that it will cancel the show Heroes, which features Hayden Panettiere. The show which debuted in 2006 skyrocketed in ratings, although the effect tapered off into the second season and to this day. According to HollywoodReporter.com, writers for the show were continually challenged in retaining audience members. It appears that there was never a single thing that continued to move the plot forward. Other publications report that fans tried to voice their frustrations with the storyline, although their cries went unheard, to the ultimate detriment of the show. Many consider it a pity to see the show go when it seemed to have so much potential at first.

NBC has said that it intends to let the show go out with a bang. It’s currently unclear as to what exactly the network is planning, but a special or movie may well be in the works. The show just ended its fourth season this past February, for a grand total of 77 episodes. Hopes were high that the show would return for a fifth season, which would pick up from when Claire reveals her supernatural abilities to the media. Obviously, this lack of closure in the storyline warrants a mini series or movie. We will have to wait and see what NBC has in store for fans of the show.

A video that has made its way to YouTube is raising concern among parents who think it may direct the wrong message to their children. The video, which features some seven year old girls dancing to Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies” has been categorized by some as being extremely suggestive. The girls in the said video were part of the World of Dance competition. Not only are the girls seen attracting attention to their chest area through exaggerated movement, but the same effect is seen when they perform leg lifts, which direct attention elsewhere. Although there is almost unanimous agreement that the young ladies are talented as far as dancing is concerned, many share the opinion that the choreography and attire is far to suggestive for the age group. We couldn’t happen to agree more. Red bikinis and lace are best reserved for the adults. In an outrageous turn of events, some of the parents of the girls in the video have argued that there is no objectionable content in the routine. One parent said the routine was only intended to be viewed by a small audience and was otherwise supposed to be kept under warps.

At the time of this writing, the video had been removed from Youtube on a copyright claim, although it is available from other video syndication sites.

Upcoming teen sensation Greyson Chance appeared on Ellen today, performing his rendition of the Lady Gaga song “Paparazzi.” Chance captivated online audiences after posting his acoustic version of the song on Youtube. He had performed the song for students at his school, who were obviously moved by its intensity. A teacher emceeing the event was heard exclaiming that Chance taught Lady Gaga lesson after the sixth grader stepped off stage. Chance has had formal instruction in piano playing, although he admittedly has no background in singing, despite having composed his own lyric laced songs including a particularly powerful one about a cancer victim.

Chance told Ellen of how he learned about the show’s interest in his video in math class. Chance’s mom sent the youngster a text letting him know that she had been contacted by the producers of Ellen. After arriving home from school, Chance was told to pack in anticipation for his flight to Los Angeles, where the Ellen show is produced. According to the sixth grader, this was his first time flying.

Chance got a chance to talk to none other than Lady Gaga on the phone, who praised him for his talent and advised him to stay focused and away from girls. It is unclear whether they intend to have any musical collaboration in the future.

Greyson Michael Chance has taken the online community by storm after a video of him playing Lady Gaga’s hit “Paparazzi” was posted on YouTube. The sixth grader paired Gaga’s vocals with a piano to create his own rendition of the popular song. The video, which at the time of this writing had garnered nearly half a million views, shows Chance playing the song at a school festival. Many people have been taken aback by the tremendous amount of emotion which the sixth grader has put into the song. There also seems to be unanimous agreement that Chance’s style is a departure from that of other young stars like Justin Bieber. The audience members behind the performer also attracted a fair amount of attention from YouTube viewers, some angered at the disrespect displayed by some of the students attending the festival. Others were obviously impressed by Greyson’s talent.

It is unclear whether Lady Gaga has learned of this video and what the future holds for Greyson. It is safe to assume that he may appear in the media in the not so distant future. There is no arguing that he has talent that could be further refined to produce some great music. We’ll have to wait and see how everything plays out.

Lines are forming at movie theaters within the United States as audiences gather to see the latest installment of Iron Man, based on the Marvel comic book. The film promises to deliver not only in the special effects department but also in plot development. Inventor Tony Stark, head of Stark Industries, faces growing pressure from the government to release his creation. In the meantime, he must also battle a new enemy. The first film wooed audiences beyond expectation, generating nearly $600 million worldwide. Iron Man 2 has performed equally well thus far, generating over $100 million in overseas ticket sales in a matter of forty eight hours. If that’s anything to go by, the film may very well usurp The Dark Knight which currently holds the record for most ticket revenue in its opening weekend – $155 million.

As the crowds gather, there appears to be an unusual number of people asking How Long is Iron Man 2? Since it premieres in most theaters at midnight tonight, its a fairly reasonable question, although running time is usually printed on the ticket. If you’re one of those unfortunate few who still cant seem to find How Long is Iron Man 2, have no fear! According to online sources, it will run for approximately 124 minutes. Iron Man 2 opened early to movie goers overseas to reap in unprecedented numbers – over 100 million in a mere 48 hours. Although the film will not be released in the United States until Friday (Unless you managed to download iron man 2 online for free), those in the industry believe that it could surpass The Dark Knight in opening weekend profits. The number to beat – $158 million, anything but a far cry from what it earned in total overseas. There is even talk that it could outpace its predecessor in the box office.  Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark in the film fighting to keep his invention out of government hands while having to battle a new villain. While critics abroad have given the film largely positive reviews, word is still out on how it stacks up against the first installment. Some have taken a liking to the sequel due to the larger roster of characters, among them the Black Widow – none other than Scarlett Johansson. As most would expect, special effects are a cornerstone to the most recent installment. One of the most anticipated scenes in the film features antagonist character Whiplash wrecking Stark’s race car at a Grand Prix event.

If you are like the millions of others looking forward to catching this flick Friday night, you best buy your tickets online and quickly. Head to the theater at least an hour before the showing begins to catch a good spot in line, as there surely will be one. A few weeks back, we reported about a status update made on Facebook that got a student expelled from school. That story got a lot of attention, and we managed to brew quite a discussion on our own site about whether or not the student’s actions constituted an expulsion. Today word has been ablaze online about a student who was denied his admission to Harvard because he posted a an inappropriate update on the social networking site. It appears that a faculty member from the school spotted the update and referred the matter to his/her superiors. From what we can tell at the moment, this latest “Status Update Rejected from Harvard” story is nothing more than a spoof. There are no credible news sites reporting on the topic and therefore we have to assume its just some person trying to divert attention upon themselves. There are screenshots of this supposed Status Update Rejected from Harvard floating around on the internet. The one we found is completely blurred out, so it is difficult to tell what exactly the student said. A comment on the person’s page made by a friend warned him/her that schools are known for looking up prospective students online, and that someone from Duke University was supposedly denied admission due to some questionable material found online. VH1, taking a play card from its sister station MTV, is putting the final touches on a show aptly named “What Chilli Wants.” No, this show will not be a competitor to Throwdown with Bobby Flay on Food Network, although given the lack of direction at the network this wouldn’t be highly improbable. VH1 cameras will follow Rozonda Thomas, better known as Chilli from the group TLC (popular back in the 90s) as she scours the world for a man. Relationship “expert” Tionna Smalls will be overseeing Chilli’s endeavours and providing indispensable advice on the way. We don’t want to speak for our readers when we say this, but it’s difficult to imagine that Chilli is having any trouble at all picking up men, and truth be told she probably doesn’t. The show is most likely a maneuver to get back into the public spotlight. Looking how at how MTV has handled these types of shows in the past, you can bet that the caliber of “What Chilli Wants” will fall somewhere in between A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila and Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. MTV actually set a higher standard in this genre of show if were to consider VH1’s largely successful Flavor of Love with rapper Flavor Flav.

Regardless of how trashy this show will probably be, you can bet people will still watch it. Perhaps if we tuned off this junk the networks would get a clue and start playing something at least remotely enriching.
