In a Thursday announcement, GE indicated its interest in allowing investor Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway to purchase $6B in stock from the company.

GE stocks did see a little rise upon the release of the news, however, they are still down nearly four percent.

General Electrics is a technology and services conglomerate started in 1876. The company is currently the 6th largest company in the world, and one of the most successful conglomerates ever started. The Fairfield, Connecticut-based company is headed by CEO Jerry Immelt. Immelt became CEO in September of 2001, at which time the 9/11 attacks happened and took a toll on some parts of the company, including its aviation services sector.

Warren Buffet, an investor with a majority share in Berkshire Hathaway is one of the wealthiest people in the world, with a net worth of $62B. He is also a philanthropist, having announced in 2006 his intentions to donate his fortune to charity. Buffet has been active in sharing his views on the current economic crisis.

We’ve seen a big spike in the people searching for Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks and though we would do a write up on exactly what the book is about. Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks is the work of The Beatty boys, three brothers that both delve into the typical financial insecurities which people share.
Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks is a how-to, if you will, a how to get rich. The brothers, David, Devin, and Deric Beatty describe how they went from picking weeds as children to buying stocks and presenting marketing strategies as adults.

Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks claims that it can help even the youngest of children gain a financial foothold. Some techniques which are outlined in the Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks book include budget worksheets, work ethics, liability evaluation, etc.

We’ve never personally read Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks, but think it might be something worth picking up at he bookstore. It apparently outlines some simple strategies which one could use to get ahead in the financial world. We were unable to find any reviews of the book, and thus cant’ get any sort of general idea as to the quality of Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks.

Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks would probably make a nice gift for the holiday’s or one’s birthday party. We’re looking forward to picking up Pulling Weeds to Picking Stocks ourselves to give it a quick read. We want to know whether all the hype surrounding the book is legitimate. We’ll have to wait and see.
