Matt Giraud – American Idol Finalist

Matt Giraud, among the top 13 finalists for season 8 of American Idol, has been accused of looking nearly identical to Taylor Hanson Hanson, part of the ‘90s phenomenon “Hanson” was never part of the American Idol competition. At a very young age, however, him along with his brothers were able to gain mainstream attention with their addictive song “MMMbop.” We can’t quite tell whether Matt Giraud will follow in the same footsteps as Taylor Hanson, however, preliminary findings report that he is well on his way. Matt Giraud is a Kalamazoo resident that has made his way to the top 13 group of finalists thanks to the support of American Idol viewers. Matt Giraud is a professional singer as well as a piano player. Residents from his hometown have embraced in hopes of catapulting him to the American Idol title. Matt Giraud’s boss back home has asked that fans be diligent in calling in their vote to ensure Matt Giraud nicely progresses throughout the competition. We have to agree that he is exceptionally talented and rightly belongs along the other members in the final 10. We will have to wait and see how far Matt Giraud is able to get in this fierce competition, however, it looks like he will pull through quite successfully. Anoop Desai – American Idol Contestant

Anoop Desai is yet another lucky member of the group of 13 finalists that are now competing against each other in becoming the next American Idol. Anoop Desai auditioned for a spot on American Idol in Kansas City, singing the Boyz II Men hit “Thank You.” Anoop Desai received positive reviews from the judges and was allowed to proceed to the next stage of the American Idol competition – Hollywood. While all the judges agreed that Anoop Desai had a talent in respect to singing, Simon Cowell criticized Anoop Desai’s image as being “somewhat geeky.” That apparently hasn’t stopped Americans from voting Anoop Desai through to the top 13. Anoop Desai is one of the younger contestants on season 8 of American Idol, coming in at only 21 years of age. As with other contestants this year, fan clubs are forming around Anoop Desai hoping to help him secure the status of American idol. The youngster is a fan of rap music and is currently attending university in North Carolina. Megan Joy Corkrey – American Idol Contestant

Megan Joy Corkrey makes up one of the 13 American Idol finalists in the 8th season of American Idol. Megan Joy Corkrey secured her position in the upper 13 finalists during her audition in the Salt Lake City. She is 23 years old and was born in Taylorsville, Utah. Megan Joy Corkrey auditioned to become a contestant on her birthday, and sang “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man” for the judges. The response was favorable on all ends, and as such, she was allowed to go to Hollywood. Megan Joy Corkrey has long had a passion for singing. She currently resides in Utah with her 2 year old toddler. Corkey did not receive sufficient votes to perform on Idol in order to secure a spot in the final group of contestants. Rather, she was selected by Idol judges to continue her American Idol career. According to her website, Megan Joy Corkrey has no professional training or experience in singing. She claims that her first time performing on stage, in front of an audience, was during American Idol. Given her plentiful talent, this is quite hard to believe. Scott MacIntyre – American Idol Contestant

Scott MacIntyre, a unique finalist among the other 12, has literally captured American hearts. Scott MacIntyre is unfortunately blind, yet he has proved himself exceptionally talented when it comes to singing. Scott MacIntyre made in on the show in Phoenix, Arizona, where he performed “And So It Goes” for American Idol judges. Scott MacIntyre is a 23-year old, educated pianist whose risen above his disabilities and really proven himself. During the auditioning stages, all 4 judges approved of Scott MacIntyre’s singing and thus allowed him to progress to the next round. As if being blind wasn’t enough of an impediment, Scott MacIntyre also had kidney problems some two year back. He required a transplant and was luckily provided a kidney by Patricia Cosand. Apparently, Mrs. Cosand’s husband was at one time Scott MacIntyre’s piano teacher. You can say that in the 23 years he has been living, Scott MacIntyre has had a bunch of different obstacles to deal with, yet he has managed to triumph over most of them. It’s very obvious that Scott MacIntyre is an extremely talented individual who has potential, and we look forward keeping up with him during the American Idol competition. Lil Rounds – American Idol Contestant

Lil Rounds is one of the lucky top 13 finalists on the popular show American Idol. Lil Rounds is a 23 year old hard working mother form Memphis, Tennessee. Many idol judges, including Randy Jackson, saw a striking resemblance between Lil Rounds and Fantasia. This is good news as we all know just how well Fantasia did in her run with American Idol. Lil Rounds garnered enough votes from viewers to grab a top spot after singing the popular Mary J. Blige song “Be Without You.” It should be anything bur surprising that Lil Rounds has made it this far into the competition. Upon competing her audition for American Idol, her performance was lauded by Simon Cowell as being amazing. Lil Rounds has insisted that Simon Cowell, although rough on some contestants, has the best intentions. Although she has never received negative criticism from the judges, it appears as though she would take it as constructive criticism. It’s not often you see someone that consider Simon Cowell to have the best intentions. We can only wait and see how Lil Rounds does during the exciting season of American Idol. Adam Lambert – American Idol Contestant

Adam Lambert constitutes one of the 13 American Idol finalists in the 8th season of the popular show. Many people believe that Adam Lambert possesses all the qualities of a real American idol. Simon Cowell initially criticized Adam Lambert as being far too theatrical in his auditioning performance. However, with some recent performances, Adam Lambert’s popularity has become apparent. His appearance alone on the show is believed to have skyrocketed American Idol viewership. Adam Lambert allegedly had dinner with Idol judge Randy Jackson prior to his semi-final performance, however, Jackson has denied that any meeting took place. Adam Lambert has yet to make a comment on these allegations. Lambert has a background in theatrical productions, having started in popular productions including “Wicked.” Lambert is apparently enjoying American Idol far more than he did his days in theatrical productions. However, he has admitted that theater has trained him to be ready for anything. We will be watching closely as Adam Lambert makes his way through American Idol and will be updating this page as any new information presents itself.

Allison Iraheta – American Idol Contestant

Allison Iraheta compromises one of the younger, promising top 13 contestants on American Idol. Allison Iraheta is but sixteen years of age, but has, however, proven her ability to compete in the heated American Idol competition. Allison Iraheta trademark feature is undoubtedly her red hair, which undoubtedly makes her stand out from those she is competing with. Simon Cowell criticized Allison Iraheta during her February 27th performance of “Alone” for allegedly not having a personality. Simon, however, couldn’t help but agree that Allison Iraheta has an uncanny ability to sing. Allison Iraheta later responded to the comment, citing that Simon knows very little about her and is thus prone to making inaccurate judgments. Paula Abdul, one of the four contestants that compromise the panel of American Idol judges compared Allison Iraheta to Kelly Clarkson, a female singer who won the show during its initial seasons. Allison Iraheta does not think her age will have an affect on her chances at winning the show. Kris Allen – American Idol Contestant

American Idol contestant Kris Allen won American Idol judges and audience members over when he auditioned with “A Song for You” at Louisville Kentucky. Kris attended the auditions with his brother, who unfortunately, did not make it into Hollywood. Fortunately, Kris Allen was able to achieve contestant status. Kris Allen is currently a student, and claims that his passion for singing has been present since his early childhood. He currently attends the University of Central Arkansas. Kris Allen did not specify what he studies at the university, or how we plans to continue with the show during his studies. Kris Allen has a growing fan-base on the popular social networking sites Myspace and Facebook. We can only imagine that as the show continues, the number of people who assemble around Kris Allen will only continue to accumulate. Danny Gokey – American Idol Contestant

Danny Gokey is one of the more memorable American Idol finalists that many viewers will be able to relate with through the competition. During his initial performances, Danny Gokey’s circumstances were rather unique and extremely sad. His wife had passed for 4 weeks prior to his first performance. In performing his first song for the American Idol judges, he sang “I Heard Through The Grapevine” for them. Most viewers were extremely impressed with Daniel Gokey in respect to both his performance in the audition stages as well as his countenance, given the tough times he was facing prior to the auditioning period. Many have compared Danny Gokey to looking like Robert Downey Jr. What many viewers didn’t like is how American idol centered Danny Gokey’s story around the more negative part of his life. Jeremy Michael Sarver – American Idol Contestant

Jeremy Michael Sarver is yet another American Idol contestant that has managed to make his way into the group of 13 finalists. He was accepted as a contestant after his audition in Phoenix, Arizona. Sarver dazzled the American Idol judges with his rendition of “Thank You,” originally written by Boyz II Men. Jeremy Michael Sarver impressed the judges to such a great extent that all of them readily sent him through, even Simon had no objection. Jeremy Michael Sarver is himself a family man, being married and having two children. He has a number of different hobbies, among them playing instruments such as the drums and guitar. He has sung a number of different songs for the American Idol judges, the first being “I Don’t Wanna Be” by Gavin DeGraw.
